22 Sep Love Poem #5
by Laura Lentz
Let love be silent,
let it slip under the bedroom door
or quietly open the gate.
When love tries to speak
cover it with your mouth
and suck the hunger out.
When I swallow
there will only be the rain
tapping on the tin roof
and your breath
rising above us.
